Two most famous Danish musicals

Denmark is well known as happiest country in the world. Or at least that´s what the UN world happiness report states. Denmark has a secret, that´s a fact: the famous hygge. A concept the rest of the world tries to translate as “cozy”, "familiar", "lovable" or "warm". For Scandinavians, it does not require explanation: it is appreciating the peace behind a cup coffee reading a book or a nice chat in front of the fire.

The same concept can be applied when it comes to spending time with your family and friends. Denmark´s main objective is to promote social relations while fomenting education. For this reason, there are thousands of cultural programs such as concerts, movies or even musicals.

We asked Trendhim, a Danish men’s accessories company, whose main objective, besides selling watches, men bracelets, pocket squares and all the thousands of products they have, is to foment the social relations between their employees.

Doing activities together makes trendhim’s and every Danish company employees work together as a team, learning from each other and sharing their knowledge.

Among these, we can find cultural activities such as for example going to the theater not only to watch Danish performances but also countless of foreign plays, performed in English.

The Matador, a Danish musical based on a Danish TV show, has been in the theaters since 2007. It was first introduced in the summer of 2010 in the modern Copenhagen Opera House.

Its story, written by Lise Nøregaard's, a famous TV series producer along with Peter Langdale and Bent Fabricius-Bjerre, draws the attention of thousands of people year after year.

So impressive is its popularity, that the musical is played all over the world.

Last but not least, a world-famous success by Klokkeren fra Notre Dame, also known as Notre Dame.

The musical was composed and written by Knud Christensen in 2002.

The main character of this story is the generous Quasimodo, who lives in Paris on a bell tower.

However, one day he gathered the courage to discover the world. During the adventure, he falls in love with the wonderful Esmeralda, who helps her generous Quasimoto surviving the planned adventure.

If these musicals have something is common is undoubtedly the coziness behind them. They try to transmit as much as possible, making their guest feel like home.
